Over twenty five years of fun, friendship and the thought sport
at Sutherland
In 1980 Sutherland Croquet Club started from very humble beginnings with one lawn
and after returfing the lawn play and coaching commenced in February 1981.
Our club
soon expanded by acquiring an additional two lawns when the bowling club was relocated
and we have an active membership of approximately 50 members.
As well as a strong social club, members who are interested have the opportunity to play in interclub and Croquet NSW events.
Over the years Sutherland Croquet Club Inc has:
· Produced four state team members
· Produced three Australian croquet champions
· Fielded pennants teams in all grades of the sport
· Been awarded NSW club of the year.
This year one of our members Ros Johnstone has just returned from New Zealand where she competed in the Womens World Golf Croquet Championships.
Sutherland Croquet Club Inc balances the competitive needs of some of its members
with the social need of all of its members. Our social games are played on members
“play days” each morning Monday to Saturday.
Sutherland croquet club has been involved
in promoting the sport by coaching schoolchildren.
Sutherland Croquet Club is proud
of its past history and is looking forward with renewed vigour to its future.
